Jefferson Elementary

The PTA's Teacher Appreciation Week is under way.

Lincoln Elementary

The Lincoln Family Dance will take place at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 22.

Longfellow Middle School

The Longfellow Forensics Invitational Meet will take place at 4 p.m. Feb. 15.

McKinley Elementary

The McKinley Messengers council hosted an all-school Valentine's Day card-making event at lunchtime Feb. 12. The cards were sent to local nursing homes and hand-delivered to homes in the McKinley area.

Our Redeemer Lutheran

Our Redeemer Lutheran became one of the 50 private schools in the United States nominated by the Council for American Private Education for the National Blue Ribbon School Award. Each year CAPE submits its recommendation to the U.S. Department of Education, which in turn selects schools nationwide to receive the award.

St. Jude the Apostle

An open house for prospective new families will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 18. Teams of students, teachers and parents will lead campus tours. Principal Catherine LaDien will be on hand to meet new families and provide details about offerings for 3-year-old kindergarten through eighth grade.

Washington Elementary

Washington girls will bring a special man in their life - father, uncle, brother or grandfather - to the Sweetheart Dance from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 16.

Wauwatosa Catholic

Students celebrated the 100th day of school for the 2012-13 school year with songs, games and activities. Children created posters with 100 items, learned how far 100 steps would take them, made paper chains with 100 links and shared trail mix made with 100 pieces of each food item.

Wauwatosa East High

The Children's Theatre of Wauwatosa Teen Troupe will present "Hebegeebees," performed by Glen Everhart, G.L. Berg Entertainment, Minn., at 2 p.m. Feb. 16 at the school. The show is the fourth in the Children's Theatre 2012-13 series of six live productions. "Admission is $5 at the door. The box office opens at 1:30 p.m.

Wauwatosa Montessori

The book club will discuss "Montessori Madness" at 5 p.m. Feb. 20.

Wauwatosa STEM

Parents and community members met with Principal Mike Heun for the Principal's Coffee at 9 a.m. Feb. 12.

Wauwatosa West High

The University of Wisconsin-Madison MadHatters, a men's a cappella group, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15. The group is comprised of 16 singers and a vocal percussionist. Musical selections will be from decades past to the present Top 40. The audience will have an opportunity to attend a mingle reception with the MadHatters after the performance. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased by calling (414)-773-3219.

Whitman Middle

The Whitman Activity Center for sixth grade will take place at 7 p.m. Feb. 22.
