Christ King

The third-grade Brownie troop is holding a Soles for Jesus shoe drive through March 6. The Scouts will collect new and gently used shoes for people in Africa who are in need. The class that collects the most pairs will be granted an out-of-uniform day.

Eisenhower Elementary

The fifth annual Children's Clothing and Toy Resale will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. March 8 and from 9 a.m. to noon March 9. The resale will include children's clothing, accessories, toys, books and more. For safety reasons, children and/or infants are not allowed at the resale Friday evening. The money raised from this event will help offset the cost of field trips and fund school events like High Interest Day and Family Fun Night.

Jefferson Elementary

Principal Stephanie Jajtner will read from Dr. Seuss' book "The Sneetches" as part of the Read Across America program at 2:15 p.m. Feb. 22. Read Across America is held in celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday.

Lincoln Elementary

Junior kindergartners will take a trip to the Wauwatosa Public Library on March 8.

Longfellow Middle School

The activity center at Longfellow is open for grades seven and eight at 7 p.m. March 1.

McKinley Elementary

Tie Dye Day is the theme for February's spirit day. The school participates in a spirit day at the end of each month.

St. Jude the Apostle

The Forensics Club, open to students in sixth through eighth grades, has been successful in recent competitions. Power Round competitors included Emily Didier taking 1st place for Poetry; Katie Haas, 2nd place for Storytelling; and Megan Keyser, 3rd place for Poetry.

Washington Elementary

The Children's Theatre of Wauwatosa Little Theatre Troupe will perform "Hansel & Gretel" from 12:30 to 1:40 p.m. March 1. Children in grades three through seven who completed Children's Theatre of Wauwatosa drama classes make up the cast.

Wauwatosa Catholic

Each month the school highlights one of the Learner Profile words using a schoolwide book, written reflections and discussion. February's Learner Profile theme was "principled" and saw students concentrate on trying to do the right and honest thing, be fair, follow rules and show respect to others.

Wauwatosa East High

The Children's Theatre of Wauwatosa will present "The Princess and the Pea" performed by the Village Playhouse of Wauwatosa at 2 p.m. March 2. This is the fifth in the Children's Theatre 2012-13 series of six live productions. Admission is $5 at the door. The box office opens at 1:30 p.m.

Wauwatosa Montessori

The lottery-style drawing for new enrollment at the school will take place in Conference Room A at the Fisher Building, 12121 W. North Ave., at 9 a.m. March 1. Parents will receive notification of the results March 8.

Wauwatosa STEM

Throughout March, Tim Decker, artist, animator and professor of fine arts at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, will work with each grade level to create a puppet and complete group work related to set design. Each grade level will focus on illustrating an insect poem. Decker has worked with Disney and was an animator for the Simpsons series.

Wauwatosa West High

The Wauwatosa Kiwanis Club and East and West High School Key Clubs will host the Wauwatosa Kiwanis Scholarship Pancake Breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 3. The all-you-can-eat menu features pancakes, sausage, coffee, orange drink and milk. All proceeds will be used toward scholarships for four Wauwatosa students. Tickets cost $6 in advance or $7 at the door; children 12 and younger can eat for $4.
