Christ King

Catholic Schools Week kicked off Jan. 27 with an all-school mass celebrated by Archbishop Listecki. In the afternoon, 16 participants received "Locks of Love" haircuts during an assembly in the gym.

Jefferson Elementary

Fifth-graders will attend a program about the solar system at the Gary E. Sampson Planetarium in West High School, in conjunction with an upcoming project on the planets at 9 a.m. Jan. 30.

Lincoln Elementary

Fourth- and fifth-graders will have an opportunity to learn about the Title I at the Brown Bag Lunch. Jen Shipman, Title I teacher, will talk about her profession and experiences from 12:05 to 12:50 p.m. Jan. 31. The Brown Bag Lunch program gives students a chance to learn about a variety of professions from local community members.

Longfellow Middle School

Incoming Freshman Night is set for 6:30 p.m. Feb. 3.

McKinley Elementary

The McKinley Empty Bowls Dinner & All-school Art Show is scheduled to run 5:30 to 7 p.m. Jan. 30. The event is being held to raise awareness and funds for local food shelters. Cost of bowl/dinner: $5 per person or $15 for a family of three or more. All proceeds will be donated to the Tosa Food Pantry.

Our Redeemer Lutheran

Students at Our Redeemer Lutheran School are celebrating National Lutheran Schools' Week from Jan. 27 to 31. Special dress days, assembly programs and the annual penny war are part of the week.

St. Joseph

An open house and ice cream social will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 30.

Underwood Elementary

Families will enjoy sledding and making s'mores outdoors (weather permitting) at family fun night, set to run 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 31. Other activities include arts and crafts, games, a bounce house and a rock climbing wall.

Washington Elementary

Washington Senior kindergartners will see a performance of "The Cat in the Hat" at First Stage Children's Theatre at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 31.

Wauwatosa East High

The Broadway Cabaret choir concert is scheduled for 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 4.

Wauwatosa Montessori

A tour with Principal Bill Anderson will take place from 9 to 10 a.m. Jan. 30. Tour-goers are asked to come to the main office to sign in and the meeting will start in the board room. There is no need to RSVP and children are welcome.

Wauwatosa STEM

The school library open house will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Jan. 30.

Whitman Middle

Fifth grade orientation is scheduled from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 5.
