Christ King

The fifth-grade girls gold basketball team participated in the St. Dominic's tournament last week, competing against 11 other teams. The girls were the White Division champions with a tournament record of 3-1. Congratulations to all of the girls and their coaches for representing Christ King so admirably. Thank you to all of the fans for their support and encouragement!

Eisenhower Elementary

Register from 8 to 10 a.m. or 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 7 to be a seller at the Eisenhower Children's Clothing and Toy and Women's Boutique Resale in March. Space is limited. Go to the school's site on the district web page, www.wauwatosa.k12.wi.us, for details about the sale.

Lincoln Elementary

A school fundraiser will be held at Pizzeria Piccola from 4 to 9 p.m. Feb 7. A portion of proceeds earned during that time will be donated to the school.

Longfellow Middle

A school dance was held Friday.

Madison Elementary

Family Fun Night will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Carnival-style games, a snack bar, an inflatable bounce house and temporary tattoos will be featured.

Roosevelt Elementary

A chorus of Roosevelt students joined members of the Opera for the Young in a performance of 'Hansel and Gretel' on Monday. The fully staged production was sung in English and adapted especially for children. In other news, the first-graders will see a performance of 'Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus' at First Stage Children's Theatre to supplement the communicative arts curriculum.

St. John

St. John's Lutheran School, 1278 Dewey Ave. (Watertown Plank Road at the Harmonee Bridge), will host a preschool open house from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 12. Participants will meet the teachers and receive information about the preschool program. Children must be 3 or 4 by September 1 to enroll.

St. Joseph

An open house and ice cream social will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Feb. 2. Personal tours also can be arranged by calling the school office at (414) 771-4626, Ext. 120. If you are interested in registering for next year for any student in grades 3-year-old kindergarten through eight, call the school office. There will be no tuition increase for next year.

St. Jude the Apostle

In honor of Catholic Schools Week, students participated in special events all week long. After a free day on Monday, Tuesday's Day of Peace to honor Mary the Mother of God included A Living Rosary, prayed by the entire school. Other special events to celebrate the week include a bowling outing, a game/movie/service day, and Sports Day, culminating in a faculty vs. eighth-grade volleyball game.

Wauwatosa Catholic

Wauwatosa Catholic School students will join students across the country to collect pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters during Catholic School's Week to benefit The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society through the Pennies for Patients campaign.

Wauwatosa East High

A forensics invitational tournament will be held at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

Wauwatosa West High

The We the People Team took first place for the fifth consecutive year in the We the People: the Citizen and the Constitution competition at Marquette University. The teams take part in mock-congressional hearings. Wauwatosa East's fourth-hour team took second. Both teams will head to national competition in late April at George Mason University in Virginia.

Whitman Middle

The Whitman Sampler Family Dinner will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Feb. 9.

Wilson Elementary/STEM

February is Heart Health Awareness Month, and students will be participating in a Heart Adventure Activity Challenge through Feb. 9.
