Eisenhower Elementary
From clothing and furniture to books and sports gear, the Children's Clothing & Toy Resale will offer something for everyone from 6 to 9 p.m. March 9. A percentage of sales will benefit PTA-sponsored events/activities.
Lincoln Elementary
Parents will have an opportunity to discuss school happenings and concerns with Principal Dean Nemoir during a Principal's Chat at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
McKinley Elementary
Students will raise money for the American Heart Association while getting some exercise and learning about heart-healthy activity during Hoops for Heart on March 13.
Our Redeemer Lutheran
Our Redeemer has spent this entire week celebrating National Lutheran Schools Week. Special assemblies and special dress days have been held, and special lunch menus were chosen by the students.
Roosevelt Elementary
Junior kindergarten students will visit Hoffers Pet Store, 7323 N. 76th St., Tuesday. They will learn about fish, turtles and other exotic animals. This trip is in correlation with their Treasures Unit, "Animals Around Us."
St. Joseph
The kindergartners performed a circus to rave reviews. Based on the audience's laughter and excitement, this year's circus was another success. The 4- and 5-year-old kindergartners practiced their acts and songs, then performed and entertained alumni, family and friends.
Underwood Elementary
Wauwatosa Children's Theatre presents "Snow White" to all students Thursday.
Washington Elementary
All week during gym class students will adventure through "The World According to Dr. Seuss" obstacle course. Students will also have their art projects on display to help set the atmosphere for the obstacle course.
Wauwatosa Catholic
The Learner Profile is made up of attributes for which all International Baccalaureate schools strive. They are that students be inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, caring, risk-takers, principled, open-minded, balanced and reflective. Each month Wauwatosa Catholic School highlights one of the Learner Profile words through a schoolwide book, written reflections and discussion. In March, students will concentrate on demonstrating the Learner Profile "Principled" by choosing to do the right and honest thing, showing respect to others and taking responsibility for their own actions.
Wauwatosa East High
Six-time winner of the Jazz Journalists Association Trombonist of the Year Award Wycliffe Gordon will be the guest artist with the Northern Illinois University Jazz Ensemble at the 12th annual Great Night of Jazz concert in the Dale K. Hidde Theater at 7 p.m. March 21. Opening the concert will be the Tosa East Jazz Ensemble I. The Tosa East bands and jazz ensembles perform under the direction of Rob Engl and Jennifer Pfeffer. Tickets for the benefit concert are $15 on the main floor and $10 for balcony seating. Students and senior citizens may purchase tickets for $8. To order, send a check or money order to Bev McWilliams at Wauwatosa East High School, 7500 Milwaukee Ave., Wauwatosa, WI 53213. Tickets will also be available at the door. This concert is a benefit for the Wauwatosa East High School bands.
Whitman Middle
Students will perform "Alice in Wonderland, Junior" a musical at 7 p.m. March 9 and 10 and 2 p.m. March 11. Join Alice's madcap adventures in Wonderland as she chases the White Rabbit, races the Dodo Bird, gets tied up with the Tweedles, raps with a bubble-blowing caterpillar and beats the Queen of Hearts at her own game. Tickets cost $10 for adults, $5 for students and free for children 6 and younger. Tickets can be purchased at SeatYourself.biz/TrojanPlayers or at the door.
Wilson Elementary/STEM
The third annual Wilson/W-STEM Science Fair will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Wilson gym.
