Eisenhower Elementary

The Scholastic Book Company is providing a variety of children's books and software for purchase during a book fair this week.

Jefferson Elementary

The Jefferson School Fun Run will be held Oct. 19. In other news, the Scholastic Book Company is providing a variety of children's books and software for purchase during a book fair this week.

Lincoln Elementary

First-graders will attend the Wauwatosa Public Library's "Introduction to the Library" program Oct. 11.

Madison Elementary

The Scholastic Book Company provided a variety of children's books and software for purchase during a book fair this week.

McKinley Elementary

The Scholastic Book Company is providing a variety of children's books and software for purchase during a book fair this week.

Mercy Academy

On Oct. 5, Mercy Academy celebrated World Smile Day. The staff promoted the importance of how a smile can be an easy, but positive gift to give to others. The children also focused on how a simple act of kindness can benefit the whole world. The day was complete when the whole school body was treated to smiley cookies.

Roosevelt Elementary

Second-graders took a field trip to the Kneeland-Walker House, where they learned about pioneer life in an old-fashioned schoolhouse that was created by the Wauwatosa Historical Society.

St. Jude

Both third-grade classes visited the Kneeland Walker House to attend the Wauwatosa Historical Society's schoolhouse. Students and their teachers, Audra Malloy and Linda Hevey, dressed for the era and did lessons on individual slate chalkboards. They practiced penmanship using pens dipped in inkwells on each desk.

Wauwatosa Catholic

In October, students will concentrate on demonstrating the Learner Profile "Communicator" by talking about ideas; expressing themselves in writing, with pictures or with gestures; being a good listener; waiting in turn to speak; or practicing some of the Spanish they are learning at school.

Wauwatosa East High

The 2012 Tosa East Raider Athletic Booster Club Kickball Tournament for people ages 13 and older will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 27 on the school soccer field. There will be 10 players per team. The cost is $100 per team. Registration information can be found on the school web page. All money raised supports the Raider Athletic Booster Club.

Wauwatosa STEM

A principal's coffee was held Oct. 9 to give parents an opportunity to discuss school issues in an informal setting.

Wauwatosa West High

Private School Shadow Day will take place Oct. 11. Wauwatosa residents with children in eighth grade attending parochial schools will have an opportunity to shadow West students to learn about the school first-hand.

Wilson Elementary

Fourth-graders took a walking field trip to the Wauwatosa Public Library on Oct. 8 to attend an introductory program about how to use the library as a resource for schoolwork. In other news, a principal's coffee was held Oct. 9 to give parents an opportunity to discuss school issues in an informal setting.
