Police Report: April 11

ROBBERY

1A gold chain valued at $600 was taken from the neck of an 18-year-old man, who was put in a chokehold, outside of Fisher Building at 124th Street and North Avenue at 11:12 a.m. April 5. Police have three suspects for the strong-arm robbery; however, no arrests have been made. Because the victim contradicted his story and details of his relationship with the three suspects, police asked to search the victim's vehicle, where they found 0.040 grams of marijuana shake.

BURGLARY

2A battery jump-start machine and a GPS unit were taken from a garage in the 2000 block of North 81st Street between the hours of 8 p.m. April 7 and midnight April 8. Loss is estimated at $290. The garage door was open at the time, and the GPS unit was taken from the front seat of an unlocked car parked in the garage.

THEFT

3A 45-foot Fruehauf trailer valued at $1,600 was taken from its parking spot in the Penzeys Spices parking lot, 12001 W. Capitol Drive, between midnight Jan. 1 and midnight March 8.

A certified public accountant reported that between March 23 and March 30, someone obtained her online login information for her Wisconsin Department of Revenue Internet access and changed her passwords, which compromised client's tax information.

4A cell phone valued at $200 and a debit card were taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 1300 block of Martha Washington Drive between 11 p.m. April 1 and 9 a.m. April 2.

5A cell phone valued at $600 was taken from a woman's stroller at Picture Perfect at Mayfair mall, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, between 3 and 3:30 p.m. April 1.

6A GPS unit valued at $100 was taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 2600 block of North 67th Street between 1 and 2:45 p.m. April 2.

7An unlocked 2003 Land Rover valued at $6,500 was taken from a driveway in the 6200 block of Washington Boulevard between 4 p.m. April 2 and 4 p.m. April 3.

8A laptop computer and accessories were taken from a vehicle parked at Pick 'n Save, 1717 N. Mayfair Road, between 3:55 and 4:10 p.m. April 3. Loss is estimated at $1,250. A window was broken to gain entry.

9A woman's wallet was taken from her purse at Dermatology Spa at Mayfair between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. April 4. The wallet is valued at $20 and there was $100 inside.

10A digital camera valued at $350 and $200 in cash were taken from a woman's purse at Mayfair between 1:45 and 3 p.m. April 4.

11A Cronkhite trailer valued at $8,400 was taken from Best Choice Landscaping, 118200 W. Ripley Ave., between 8 p.m. April 4 and 8 a.m. April 5.

12A pair of Gucci sunglasses valued at $250 was taken from Solstice at Mayfair at 1:32 p.m. April 5.

13A 20-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested at 1:56 p.m. April 6 for taking $124 worth of clothing from Champs Sports at Mayfair.

14A purse was taken from a vehicle parked near Underwood Parkway and Watertown Plank Road at 2:39 p.m. April 7. Loss is estimated at $220. A window was broken to gain entry. Damage is estimated at $250.

15Three bottles of liquor were taken from a display case at Ray's Liquor, 8930 W. North Ave., at 3:05 p.m. April 7. Loss is estimated at $600.

16A 27-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested at 4:17 p.m. April 7 for taking $500 worth of clothing from Boston Store at Mayfair.

17A GPS unit valued at $200 and a bag of quarters were taken from an unlocked vehicle in a driveway in the 8100 block of Milwaukee Avenue between before 9 a.m. April 7.

18A cordless drill, valued at $169, was taken from The Home Depot, 4100 N. 124th St., at 3:50 p.m. April 8. The license plate of the Ford Econoline the suspect drove away in was obtained by a store employee. The vehicle had been reported stolen from Wausau on Dec. 5.

The Wauwatosa Police Department responded to 12 thefts of items valued at less than $100 in the past week.

DRUG POSSESSION

19A 23-year-old Wauwatosa man was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver at 12:36 a.m. April 8 in the 200 block of North 68th Street. He had been pulled over because his vehicle's registration was expired. The officer smelled marijuana and found nine sandwich bags containing the drug. They were weighed separately. The weight of the bags ranged between 2.19 grams and 14.06 grams.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

20A 20-year-old Waukesha man was arrested for drunken driving at 68th Street and Wisconsin Avenue at 7 p.m. April 6 after a two-car accident. His blood-alcohol content was 0.23. No one was injured.

21A 23-year-old man from Howards Grove was arrested for drunken driving in the 7000 block of West Bluemound Road at 7:20 p.m. April 6 after he was pulled over for deviating from his traffic lane. His BAC was 0.15.

22A 43-year-old West Allis man was arrested for drunken driving in the 500 block of North 64th Street at 7:32 p.m. April 6 during a multi-jurisdictional OWI Task Force deployment. He was taken to a hospital for a blood draw to determine his BAC.

23A 26-year-old man was arrested for drunken driving and driving without insurance in the 9800 block of Ridge Boulevard at 3:19 a.m. April 9. The driver had been pulled over after police were notified of a car driving on its rims. His BAC was 0.129.

ACCIDENT

24A 58-year-old Wauwatosa woman was taken to Froedtert Hospital because of chest pain after her vehicle was struck at Swan Boulevard and Stickney Avenue at 5:32 p.m. April 2. A 54-year-old Wauwatosa woman was cited for failure to yield to the right of way from a stop sign.

25A 53-year-old Wauwatosa man was taken to Froedtert Hospital after a collision on Capitol Drive at Highway 45 at 3:48 p.m. April 7. A pickup truck, driven by a 46-year-old Milwaukee man, ran a red light and collided with his vehicle. The Wauwatosa Fire Department had to extricate the Wauwatosa man from the vehicle. The driver of the pickup was cited for failing to stop at the light.

VANDALISM

26A picture window was shot with BBs in the 6600 block of Hillside Lane between 8 p.m. April 4 and 7 p.m. April 15. A window near the home's front doors and the window of the homeowner's vehicle also had been hit by BBs. The window of the vehicle parked in the driveway was shattered. Damage is estimated at $875.

27A car's window was smashed in the 2300 block of Mayfair Road between 10:30 p.m. April 6 and 8:45 a.m. April 7. Damage is estimated at $650.

OTHER

28A 17-year-old girl was cited for habitual truancy at Wauwatosa East High School, 7500 Milwaukee Ave., at 11:16 a.m. March 2. She has missed 17 partial days of school during the second semester.

29Police are looking for a 23-year-old man who showed up at Walgreens, 2275 N. Mayfair Road, where is ex-girlfriend is an employee, at 3:11 p.m. April 3. He sprayed lotion, causing a mess at the cosmetics counter. He had already been arrested at the Walgreens once before and was most recently arrested the night before for disorderly conduct when he fought the woman's boyfriend.

30An 18-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for disorderly conduct at 2:43 p.m. April 4 in the Mayfair parking lot after making threatening remarks to a Milwaukee County Transit System bus driver. Two male passengers, who were dressed as females, attempted to board the bus. The driver recognized one of the passengers as a person who attempted to use a false bus pass the week before. The Milwaukee man then attempted to board the bus using a student bus pass. After the driver asked them to exit the bus, the Milwaukee man began yelling at the driver, who felt threatened and called police.

The Wauwatosa Police Department responded to one incident of domestic violence in the past week.
