BURGLARY

1A bike valued at $50 was taken from a garage in the 2400 block of North 63rd Street between 9 p.m. Aug. 20 and 7:45 a.m. Aug. 21. It is believed the thieves obtained the garage opener from an unlocked car.

THEFT

The Wauwatosa Police Department responded to three thefts of items valued at less than $100 in the past week.

A woman reported that two of her debit cards had been used to make multiple fraudulent transactions, totaling $1,148, between 3 and 7 p.m. Aug. 21.

2A child's bike, valued at $125, was taken from near the jungle gym at Underwood Elementary School, 12121 W. North Ave., between 3:30 and 3:50 p.m. Aug. 21.

3A diaper bag and its contents, a value of $105, were taken from the parking lot of Pick 'n Save, 1717 N. Mayfair Road, between 7:40 and 9 a.m. Aug. 22. The victim said he forgot the bag in either a cart or on the ground next to his vehicle.

4A 44-year-old Waukesha man was arrested for stealing nine baseball caps, a total value of $306, from the Buckle at 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 5:23 p.m. Aug. 22. This was his second arrest at Mayfair in two months.

5An unattended purse and its contents were taken from Discovery Clothing at Mayfair between 6:30 and 6:45 p.m. Aug. 22. Loss is estimated at $400.

6A 16-year-old Milwaukee girl was arrested for taking $388 worth of clothing from Macy's and Forever 21 at Mayfair at 6:45 p.m. Aug. 22.

7An unattended cellphone, valued at $600, was taken from the Get Happy kiosk in Mayfair between 8:30 and 8:40 p.m. Aug. 22.

A woman reported her identity had been stolen after she received a letter stating she owed $1,899 in taxes when she expected a $208 refund. She made the report at 1:12 p.m. Aug. 23.

8A 26-year-old man was arrested after taking a camera valued at $70 from RadioShack, 6407 W. North Ave., at 6:51 p.m. Aug. 23. He also was arrested on a warrant for retail theft.

9A pair of sunglasses valued at $199 was taken from Solstice at Mayfair at 12:59 p.m. Aug. 24.

10A $900 bike was taken from the Mayfair parking lot between 6 p.m. Aug. 24 and 6 p.m. Aug. 25. The tire was removed and the U-lock was taken along with the bike.

11A Toyota Rav4 was taken from a driveway in the 2500 block of North 67th Street between 10:30 p.m. Aug. 24 and 8 a.m. Aug. 25. The owner believes the vehicle was locked; there was no broken glass at the scene.

12A 22-year-old Oconomowoc man was arrested for stealing $374 worth of gaming items from Target, 3900 N. 124th St., at 2:50 p.m. Aug. 25.

DRUG POSSESSION

13A 51-year-old man was arrested for possessing drug paraphernalia after police found a copper pipe that appeared to have crack cocaine in it in his vehicle in the 6700 block of West State Street at 5:39 p.m. Aug. 24.

ACCIDENT

14A 53-year-old man was taken to Froedtert Hospital after his motorcycle was struck by a 47-year-old woman's car in the zero block of Watertown Plank Road at 6:07 p.m. Aug. 21. The woman was uninjured.

OTHER

A woman reported forgery after checking her bank account and noticing $1,246 worth of unauthorized checks had been written from it at 3:57 p.m. Aug. 22. She suspects a family member of forging the checks.

15A customer complained about receiving a counterfeit $10 bill as change from Walgreens, 6600 W. State St., at 6:53 p.m. Aug. 25. There were no watermarks or security strip, and the color-shifting ink didn't work on the bill.

The Wauwatosa Police Department responded to one incident of domestic violence during the past week.
