BURGLARY

1A coin counter and cash, valued at $500, was taken from a home in the 3200 block of North Knoll Boulevard between 6:30 an 8:20 p.m. July 16. Entry was gained through an open garage door.

2A bicycle valued at $150 was taken from a garage in the 2400 block of North 69th Street between 4 and 11 a.m. July 17. Another bicycle had been left behind in the yard.

3A bicycle valued at $305 was taken from an open garage in the 8600 block of West Wright Street between 3:15 and 6 p.m. July 17.

4A bicycle valued at $540 was taken from a garage in the 2400 block of North 64th Street between 10 p.m. July 17 and 5:20 a.m. July 18. A garage door had been pried open.

5Two televisions, a laptop computer, athletic shoes, a projector and videogame systems and accessories, valued at $3,720, were taken from a home in the 2500 block of North 67th Street between 8 a.m. July 20 and 12:10 a.m. July 21. A door had been pried open.

THEFT

6A shopper's credit card was taken from Macy's when she got distracted at the check out at 5:30 p.m. June 28. She discovered fraudulent purchases totaling $2,955 had been made using the card when she received her statement July 16.

7A woman's debit card was taken from her vehicle at Mayfair and $160 was withdrawn from her bank account July 8. She and a friend had met two men at the mall, one of whom told her he could help her with her cellphone bill if she gave him financial information. She allowed him in her vehicle, where he used her cellphone.

8Jewelry valued at $4,400 was taken from a home in the 2300 block of Lefeber Avenue during an open house showing about 1:15 p.m. July 15. About 15 people had gone through the house before the theft was discovered.

9A man took 10 pairs of jeans and anti-theft equipment, valued at $3,475, at Macy's on July 16. He used a tool to disconnect the alarm equipment that secured the jeans to cable, grabbed a pile of jeans and ran out to a waiting vehicle.

10Two 18-year-old Milwaukee women were arrested for retail theft after they took clothing valued at $306 from Macy's, Forever 21 and Gap Kids stores at Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 12:10 p.m. July 16. As they walked out, they were confronted by a security guard, who they threatened. One of the women was handcuffed, while the other managed to walk away to her car. Her vehicle was stopped at Red Lobster, where a search turned up a trunk full of stolen items and 1.2 grams of marijuana. The driver was also arrested for marijuana possession and trespassing, because she had been banned from the mall following a prior theft.

11A 47-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for retail theft and trespassing after she tried to return a large pillow that had a security tag on it at Boston Store at Mayfair at 3:01 p.m. July 16. When the return was denied, she started shopping. She tried to leave the store without paying for items valued at $792. She said she was a crack addict and planned to return the items for a gift card, which she would resell for drug money. She had a crack pipe in her purse. She had been banned from the mall in May and was on probation following seven prior retail theft convictions.

12A locked bicycle valued at $200 was taken from Wauwatosa West High School, 11400 W. Center St., at 4:53 p.m. July 16.

13An 18-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for retail theft after she filled a bag with clothing valued at $106 from Macy's at 2:50 p.m. July 17. Had she not been caught, she would have continued to shoplift from other mall stores, she told police.

14Two men in a van took 15 wooden pallets, valued at $105, from the back of Kmart, 3201 N. Mayfair Road, at 2:52 p.m. July 17. This is one of several similar pallet thefts to have taken place at the store in recent weeks.

15A GPS valued at $200 was taken from a vehicle in the 2500 block of North 63rdt Street between 7 p.m. July 17 and 7 a.m. July 18. A window had been broken.

16Two Milwaukee girls, ages 14 and 15, took bicycles valued at $566 from a yard in the 2600 block of North 68th Street at 9:45 p.m. July 17. They were stopped riding the bikes at 62nd Street and Lisbon Avenue in Milwaukee.

17A GPS valued at $425 was taken from an unlocked vehicle in the 2300 block of North 64th Street between 12:01 and 9 a.m. July 18.

18A gray 2003 Chevrolet Express conversion van with a custom chrome front grill, valued at $10,000, was taken from a driveway in the 7700 block of West Wisconsin Avenue between 1:45 and 7:14 a.m. July 18.

19A bicycle valued at $350 was taken from a backyard in the 2000 block of North 107th Street between noon and 12:16 p.m. July 18. The owner saw a boy peering into her living room window.

20A laptop computer, valued at $875, was taken from a vehicle at Buffalo Wild Wings, 2635 N. Mayfair Road, between 6:40 and 7:15 p.m. July 18.

21A laptop computer valued at $1,515 was taken from a vehicle at Mo's Irish Pub, 10842 W. Bluemound Road, between 7:15 and 7:47 p.m. July 18. A window had been broken.

22A purse that contained a cellphone and camera, valued at $1,210, was taken from a vehicle in the 1600 block of Underwood Parkway between 7:20 and 8 a.m. July 18. More than $1,000 in fraudulent charges were made using the stolen credit cards.

23A 35-year-old Brookfield man was arrested for retail theft after he failed to scan items and substituted more expensive items for those that were scanned in the self-checkout aisle at Pick 'n Save, 1717 N. Mayfair Road, at 7:46 a.m. July 19. He had defrauded the store out of $158 over 11 transactions between July 1 and 19.

24A 21-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for retail theft after she filled a bag with items valued at $168 at Macy's at 4:47 p.m. July 19. She said it was almost her birthday and she wanted something special for herself.

25A 43-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for retail theft and resisting arrest after he took personal hygiene products valued at $14 from Dollar Tree, 2851 N. Mayfair Road, then led police on a foot chase that ended in Alioto's kitchen at 6:07 p.m. July 20.

26Cash was taken from a safe at Open Pantry, 12324 W. North Ave., at 10:43 p.m. July 20. A customer said he was having problems with a gas pump, so the clerk went outside to help. When he returned, the safe was open.

27A laptop computer and accessories, valued at $5,125, were taken from a vehicle at Mo's Irish Pub between midnight and 1 a.m. July 21.

Wauwatosa Police Department responded to four thefts of items valued at less than $100 in the past week.

DRUG POSSESSION

28A 29-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for heroin and drug paraphernalia possession after he was found passed out behind the wheel of his car at 115th Street and Potter Road at 7:20 a.m. July 15. The key was in the ignition and engine running but the door was open and his foot on the ground. He said he had taken anxiety pills because he had found his brother dead from a drug overdose that morning. The officer looked up the obituary and found the brother had died in May. He changed his story to say the death was still hitting him and he had cleaned out his brother's home and found drugs and paraphernalia. He had 0.10 grams of heroin.

ACCIDENT

29A 33-year-old West Allis woman was taken to Froedtert Hospital for a concussion after her vehicle was involved in a five-vehicle collision at 90th Street and North Avenue at 3:14 p.m. July 17. Her children, ages 1 and 8, were taken to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin for neck pain. Traffic had backed up due to a red light at Swan Boulevard. A 31-year-old Milwaukee woman was cited for inattentive driving, because she failed to realize traffic was stopping and she rear-ended the car in front of her, which caused a domino effect.

30A 21-year-old woman was taken to Froedtert Hospital for an injury after her vehicle was struck in the 9700 block of West Wisconsin Avenue at 9:49 a.m. July 19. She was cited for driving with a suspended license and having no proof of auto insurance. The driver of the striking vehicle, a 60-year-old woman, was cited for making an improper left turn.

VANDALISM

31A door handle was broken off the backdoor of Supercuts, 6810 W. State St., and the business's name was written in black marker between 9:30 p.m. July 19 and 11 a.m. July 20.

OTHER

32A 19-year-old Wauwatosa man broke through a wooden fence as he ran from police in the 1800 block of North 71st Street at 1:37 a.m. July 17. He was one of five people walking home from an underage drinking party. He ran when he saw a squad car. An officer talked to him by phone later that day. He was not cited, but he was told he must work with the property owner to fix the fence.

33A fire was started in the wooded area behind Madison Elementary School, 9925 W. Glendale Ave., at 6:15 p.m. July 19. It was extinguished by the Fire Department. There was food scattered around the area, so it appeared someone had been having a cookout.

34Two counterfeit $100 bills were taken in at Metcalfe's Market, 6700 W. State St., at 5:55 p.m. July 21.

Wauwatosa Police Department responded to one domestic violence incident in the past week.
