THEFT

1An 18-year-old Milwaukee woman working at Abercrombie Kids at Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, was arrested at 3:15 p.m. Oct. 3 for theft of $97.93 from the store and admitted to taking $200 to $300 in store receipts over the previous month. The woman also was charged with possession of marijuana after authorities walked her to her locker and the drug was found in her jacket pocket.

2A vehicle valued at $15,000 was reported stolen from Enterprise Rent-A-Car, 1826 N. Mayfair Road, at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 5, four days after the renter failed to return it as scheduled.

3Police investigated the theft of an $830 touch-screen computer that a clerk at Target, 3900 N. 124th St., handed to a customer during a separate transaction at 8:05 p.m. Oct. 15.

4About $975 was taken, in total, from five vending machines at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 10499 Innovation Drive, between Oct. 23 and Nov. 3.

5Sewer pipes and other equipment were taken from a construction site near the intersection of Mayfair and Watertown Plank roads between Oct. 29 and Oct. 31. Loss is estimated at $6,500.

6A 62-year-old Indiana woman reported the theft of a 24-inch gold necklace, valued at more than $2,000, from a guest room at the Holiday Inn Express, 1111 W. North Ave., between 7 p.m. Nov. 4 and 7 a.m. Nov. 7.

7A 20-year-old Milwaukee woman working in the Country Store at San Camillo retirement community, 10200 W. Bluemound Road, was arrested at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 8 for stealing about $8,000 from the store over the course of several months. The woman told officers she started by taking $20 from the register to see if she could get away with it and eventually began taking $80 to $100 a day.

8A 17-year-old Milwaukee boy was arrested for taking a $100 pair of high-top sneakers from Macy's in Mayfair at 2:12 p.m. Nov. 8. The boy had put his shoes in the box and tried to walk out wearing the new sneakers. He was seen by store security officers.

9A 49-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for taking $355 worth of deodorant, razors and over-the-counter pain medicine from Metcalf Market, 6700 W. State St., at 5:48 p.m. Nov. 11.

10A 16-year-old Milwaukee girl was arrested for taking $280 worth of jeans and shirts from Macy's in Mayfair at 7:28 p.m. Nov. 11.

11A $14,000 vehicle that had been taken from the 700 block of Windsor Court on Nov. 11 was found in the 1000 block of South 23rd Street in Milwaukee at 3:26 p.m. Nov. 12. The vehicle was missing its battery, catalytic converter and registration sticker when it was found.

12A 44-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for taking $590 worth of jewelry and perfume worth from Boston Store at Mayfair at 3:35 p.m. Nov. 13.

DRUG POSSESSION

13A 15-year-old boy was arrested for possession of marijuana after a police officer investigated a group of teens hanging out at the stairs connecting Blanchard and Alice streets at 8:14 a.m. Nov. 7. The officer noted that the area is a known gathering place and that the group said they were doing their homework before school.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

14A 43-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving when he ran a flashing red light at the intersection of Vliet and 60th streets at 1:26 a.m. Nov. 13. An officer saw the driver, heading west on Vliet, turn onto northbound 60th Street without stopping for the flashing red signal.

ACCIDENTS

15A 12-year-old student at Longfellow Middle School suffered a broken leg and other injuries when he was struck by a vehicle while crossing Wauwatosa Avenue at Wright Street with a crossing guard at 7:39 a.m. Nov. 7. A 55-year-old driver told officers she was southbound on Wauwatosa Avenue when she saw a vehicle stopped in the left lane and thought the driver was making a left turn. She said she did not see the crossing guard or the pedestrian, and attempted to drive around the vehicle to the right when the impact occurred. The student was taken to Children's Hospital of Wisconsin where he was treated and released.

16A 42-year-old woman was cited for failure to yield after her vehicle collided with another at Mayfair Road and Research Drive at 7:57 a.m. Nov. 8. The other driver was taken to Froedtert Hospital to be checked out.

17A hit-and-run collision resulted in a downed traffic control sign at Bluemound Road and 124th Street on Nov. 8.

VANDALISM

18Locks and a doorbell were damaged at a home in the 1800 block of North 70th Street, it was reported at 7:25 a.m. Nov. 11. The unoccupied home had been open for an estate sale earlier in the month.

19A vehicle's rear window was smashed while it was in the 6100 block of West North Avenue the evening of Nov. 11. Damage is estimated at $300.

20A pellet was shot through a vehicle's window in the 11100 block of West Meinecke Avenue. Damage is estimated at $100.

21A vehicle's rear window was broken in the 7400 block of Harwood Avenue before 9:30 a.m. Nov. 13. Damage is estimated at $350.

OTHER

An 87-year-old woman was bilked out of $4,029 via a telephone scam. She reported the matter at 4:16 p.m. Nov. 8. Someone called claiming to be her granddaughter's husband, and saying he had been arrested on a drug charge in Lima, Peru. She thought it was legitimate because her relative is a pilot who travels internationally. The caller asked her to wire $3,800, which she did, along with spending money on transfer fees.

22A counterfeit $100 bill was used to purchase a pair of boots at DSW, 2265 N. Mayfair Road, at 5:05 p.m. Nov. 9. Police said it appeared that the forged bill was actually two halves of other bills attached to each other.

23A 16-year-old Wauwatosa East student was arrested for habitual truancy at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 11 at the school, 7500 Milwaukee Ave. He has missed 38 classes since the beginning of the school year.
