BURGLARY

1A mountain bike valued at $300 was taken from an unlocked garage in the 2500 block of North 88th Street between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sept. 24.

2A deadbolt was knocked off a door in the 6100 block of West State St., between 6 and 7:40 p.m. Sept. 27. The victim believes someone tried to break into her residence, but couldn't quite get the deadbolt unlatched. The damage is estimated at $200.

3A flat-screen television valued at $300 was taken from a home in the 7500 block of Watson Avenue between 1:30 and 2 a.m. Sept. 28. The resident heard the thief enter his home.

THEFT

4A 65-year-old Milwaukee man is wanted for not returning an $800 paint sprayer from Sherwin Williams, 12132 W. Capitol Drive, on June 7. The man had been arrested for fraud at Sherwin Williams in 2000 and for other fraud incidents.

5A wallet with $600, insurance cards, Social Security cards and a driver's license was taken from a bathroom at Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. Sept. 13. Loss is estimated at $610.

6A woman noticed her wallet missing when she got home from Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road. She believes the wallet went missing between 4 and 8 p.m. Sept. 24. The woman called mall security and learned that someone had turned in her wallet. There was $100 and a driver's license missing.

7A pair of sunglasses valued at $345 was taken from Solstice at Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 5:21 p.m. Sept. 24.

8A GPS unit and satellite radio were taken from a vehicle in the 4700 block of North 100th Street between 11:30 p.m. Sept. 24 and 8:50 a.m. Sept. 25. The car's owner isn't sure the vehicle's lock was working properly. Loss is estimated at $255.

9A fire hydrant was stolen after it was knocked out of the ground by a semitrailer in the 11000 block of West Bluemound Road at 8:13 a.m. Sept. 25. Video surveillance shows the semitrailer struck the fire hydrant at 8:10 a.m. and the driver of a pickup truck stole the fire hydrant 8:13 a.m. The hydrant is valued at $950.

10A rental vehicle's window was smashed and a laptop, roller bag and GPS unit were taken from it while it was parked at Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, 2929 N. Mayfair Road, between 9:55 and 11:20 a.m. Sept. 25.

11A vehicle's window was smashed and a purse was taken from it while it was parked at the YMCA, 2420 N. 124th St., between 10 and 11:20 a.m. Sept. 25. Loss is estimated at $930.

12A toilet valve was disassembled and taken from Taco Bell, 510 N. Mayfair Road, between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Sept. 25. The valve was valued at $300. The owners said this type of theft has been a problem in Taco Bells in metro Milwaukee and that corporate was investigating.

13A pair of designer glasses was taken from Suson Eye Specialist, 2300 N. Mayfair Road, at noon Sept. 25. Two customers were asking for Versace frames when one of them distracted the employee and the second took the frames. Loss is estimated at $395.

14Three bottles of vodka and one bottle of whiskey were taken from Sendik's, 8616 W. North Ave., at 6:42 p.m. Sept. 25. Loss is estimated at $108.

15A window was smashed and a backpack taken out of a car in the 10000 block of Bluemound Road between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sept. 27. The backpack contained $1,350 worth of items including glasses and textbooks.

16A car window was smashed in a multistory parking lot in the 10000 block of Research Drive between 11 a.m. and 12:49 p.m. Sept. 27. The perpetrators tried taking the stereo, but didn't succeed in removing it. Damage is estimated at $500.

17A 22-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for taking $219 worth of children's clothes from Macy's at Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 12:52 p.m. Sept. 27. The woman had been arrested twice this year for retail theft and said that she just wanted some clothes for her child. She has been banned from the mall for five years and was cited for retail theft.

18A wallet with credit and identification cards was taken from a woman at Wheaton Franciscan Health Care, 201 N. Mayfair Road, at 3:47 p.m. Sept. 27. Police caught the people who had the victim's credit cards during another theft and returned them. A $400 fraudulent transaction had been made to the cards.

19Four catalytic converters, a total value of $12,800, were taken from trucks in the parking lot of FSA Network, 4320 N. 124th St., at 9:16 a.m. Sept. 28. Police are reviewing video surveillance footage.

20A 19-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for assisting a theft of an iPad from Best Buy Mobile at Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 6:25 p.m. Sept. 28. Video surveillance shows him moving the iPad, valued at $527, away from the employee and his friend stuffing it into his jacket. The friend has not been found.

21A flush valve valued at $300 was taken from Cousin's Subs, 12325 W. Burleigh St., between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Sept. 29.

22A 19-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for taking clothes valued at $407 from Macy's at Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 1:35 p.m. Sept. 29. The woman, who had been fired from Macy's in 2011, used her stroller to hide the items.

23A 20-year-old woman was arrested for taking $151 worth of clothing from Boston Store, 2400 N. Mayfair Road, at 3:15 p.m. Sept. 29. The woman had been arrested for retail theft four times previously.

24A 26-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for taking $135 worth of pants and boots from Baby Gap at Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 4:14 p.m. Sept. 29. She also had $188 worth of stolen jewelry from Forever 21 and Claire's, both of which did not seek persecution.

25Nine DVD television series sets were taken from Target, 3900 N. 124th St., between 9:23 and 9:33 a.m. Sept. 30. Loss is estimated at $670.

Police responded to one theft of items valued at less than $100 in the past week.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

26A 41-year-old Menomonee Falls man was arrested for drunken driving after hitting a vehicle and a light pole with his SUV in the 3100 block of North Mayfair Road at 6:37 p.m. Sept. 25. He said he was looking for a Billy Joel CD when he hit a vehicle that "cut him off." The man said he then panicked and drove a couple of blocks away. His blood-alcohol content was 0.15.

27A 35-year-old Racine man was arrested for drunken driving at Bluemound Road and Ravenswood Circle at 1:18 a.m. Sept. 29. His BAC was 0.15. His three passengers could not drive the car home as their BACs were 0.14, 0.22 and 0.15

28A 32-year-old Menomonee Falls man was arrested for drunken driving at Bluemound Road and Robertson Street at 11:45 p.m. Sept. 29. The man admitted to starting to drink at 3 p.m. and continuing to drink throughout the day. His BAC was 0.13.

ACCIDENTS

29A 30-year-old woman was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital after she ran her car into another car while making a left turn at Mayfair Road and Research Drive at 8:06 a.m. Sept. 26. The second driver, a 37-year-old woman, was taken to Froedtert Hospital. The first woman was given a ticket for failure to yield the right of way.

30A woman was arrested on a warrant for following too closely after she hit a motorcycle with her car at Milwaukee and Wauwatosa avenues Sept. 28. She was turning left when the two collided. The motorcycle driver was taken to Froedtert with an injured leg and shoulder.

31A 32-year-old Milwaukee woman was taken to Froedtert Hospital after a 28-year-old man went through a red light, hitting her car at Mayfair Road and Center Street at 3:45 p.m. Sept. 29. The 28-year-old said that he tried to hit the brakes for the red light but instead hit the gas.

VANDALISM

32Profanity was written on the side of a car in the parking lot of Starbucks, 12345 W. Capitol Drive, between 3 and 9 p.m. Sept. 26.

33Profanity and a smiley face were written on the west side of Jefferson Elementary, 6927 Maple Terrace, between 10 p.m. Sept. 28 and 11:25 a.m. Sept. 29. Damage is estimated at $100.

34The words "Young Tosa Crew" were written on a footbridge in the 7700 block of Harwood Avenue before 3:25 p.m. Sept. 29.

OTHER

35A 41-year-old Wauwatosa man got a surprise when police found him in the back of his car with a woman in a parking lot in the 7300 block of Chestnut Street at 12:04 a.m. Sept. 25. The man was arrested on two warrants for suspended vehicle registration violations.

36A 45-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for disorderly conduct at Shepherds Bar, 6715 W. North Ave., at 10:36 p.m. Sept. 26. She had hit several customers, threw her debit card at the bartender, threw her cellphone and glasses on the ground and was caught on her way walking out of the bar.
