Police Reports: June 19

BURGLARY

1Two lawnmowers were taken from a garage in the 2400 block of North 63rd Street between 7:30 p.m. June 15 and 12:58 a.m. June 16. There were prymarks and a footprint on the door. Loss is estimated at $200.

THEFT

2A bag containing $298 worth of clothing that had just been purchased at The Buckle in Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, was stolen after the buyer set it on a display counter while shopping at Victoria's Secret between 12:40 and 1:05 p.m. June 11. Later that day, two women returned the items at the Brookfield location.

3A woman was arrested for retail theft for taking $306 worth of jeans from The Buckle at 4:48 p.m. June 11. She stuffed the items in a tote bag while she hid in a clothing rack.

4A man put makeup and razors into his backpack and ran out of Walgreens, 2656 Wauwatosa Ave., at 7:40 a.m. June 12. Loss is estimated at $100.

5A shopper's wallet was taken from her purse at Macy's in Mayfair before 3:38 p.m. June 12. Three women who are suspected of other thefts were captured on surveillance video using the credit cards to make fraudulent purchases totaling $2,477 at Target, 3900 N. 124th St.

6A man took a toolkit valued at $499 from The Home Depot, 4100 N. 124th St., at 10:58 a.m. June 13.

7A shopper's wallet was taken from her purse at Mayfair about 4 p.m. June 13. Her credit cards were used to make fraudulent purchases totaling $6,800 at Target in Brown Deer.

8Several hundred dollars were taken from a piggy bank at a home in the 6600 block of Romona Avenue before 3 p.m. June 14.

9Baseball equipment, a cellphone and a stereo were taken from a vehicle in the 7200 block of Hart Park Lane between 9:45 p.m. June 14 and 2 a.m. June 15. Loss is estimated at $1,735. A window was broken to gain entry.

10A 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier Coupe was taken from the Mayfair parking lot at 10:15 p.m. June 14.

11A 51-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of stolen property after he tried to sell stolen golf clubs to Play It Again Sports, 10111 W. Capitol Drive, at 1:47 p.m. June 15. Two days earlier, the real owner had called asking the sporting goods resale shop to keep an eye out for them.

12Three women made six purchases totaling $2,313 using a stolen credit card at Macy's at 5:52 p.m. June 15. One of the women also took one diamond stud earring valued at $1,100. The credit card owner said her wallet had been stolen at Bayshore Town Center in Glendale.

13A 17-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for retail theft and trespassing after she was seen putting clothing valued at $30 in her purse at Ragstock in Mayfair at 2 p.m. June 16. A search of her purse turned up four shirts, a $96 value, that had been taken from Zumiez. She had been banned from the mall in November, 2010, for shoplifting at Macy's.

14A 20-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for retail theft and marijuana possession after she took items from Macy's at 4:27 p.m. June 16. Store staff suspected her of taking two baseball caps from the store earlier in the morning when she had been shopping with a group of people. She had returned to the store and this time exited with two shirts in her purse. More than $1,500 in stolen clothing was found in the vehicle she arrived in. She had 8.35 grams of marijuana in her purse. The driver, a 23-year-old man, was arrested on a warrant for driving with a revoked license.

15A smartphone valued at $650 was taken from a display at the Verizon kiosk at Mayfair between 5 and 5:38 p.m. June 16.

16A man took sunglasses from Solstice at Mayfair at 2:53 p.m. June 17. He was pulled over by a police officer, who then found two other pairs of stolen sunglasses. In all, the stolen glasses are valued at $890. A passenger, a 28-year-old Milwaukee man, was arrested on a Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office warrant for failing to appear in court.

17A 16-year-old Milwaukee boy was arrested for retail theft after he was seen putting bottles of liquor in his backpack at Pick 'n Save, 6950 W. State St., at 6:11 p.m. June 17. He looked like the suspect from a liquor theft the day before. He said he had taken candy or liquor every day for the past five days.

The Wauwatosa Police Department responded to 10 thefts of items valued at less than $100 in the past week.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

18A 58-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving after he was pulled over for speeding at 65th Street and Bluemound Road at 10:42 p.m. June 9. His blood-alcohol content was 0.21.

DRUG POSSESSION

19A 24-year-old Slinger man was arrested for possessing drugs and drug paraphernalia and for violating probation after he was pulled over for speeding in the 10200 block of West Capitol Drive at 3:03 p.m. June 12. Paraphernalia typically used by intravenous drug users was found in the vehicle. A background check showed he had a suspended driver's license and was on parole for a drug charge. Drug paraphernalia, a loaded handgun, oxycodone pills and 0.75 grams of marijuana were found during a vehicle search. The passenger, a 31-year-old Hutisford man, had a warrant through Ashland County for disorderly conduct and was on bail through Washington County for first-degree sexual assault, battery, false imprisonment and recklessly endangering safety. He was arrested for drug possession and being a felon in possession of a gun. They had met in prison and were on their way to buy drugs.

ACCIDENTS

20A man was taken to Froedtert Hospital after his vehicle collided with another at Potter and Mayfair roads at 11:03 a.m. June 6. He was cited for failing to yield while making a left turn.

21A 49-year-old woman was taken to Froedtert Hospital for treatment of abrasions to her hands and chin after her motorcycle struck a deer at Mayfair Road and Maple Lane at 2:32 a.m. June 9.

22A 32-year-old Wauwatosa woman was taken to Froedtert Hospital for treatment of a head injury after her vehicle struck another car in the 7700 block of West North Avenue at 6:23 p.m. June 11. She was cited for inattentive driving and not wearing a seatbelt.

23A 49-year-old woman was taken to Froedtert Hospital for treatment of a head injury after the vehicle she was in was struck from behind at Harwood and Harmonee avenues at 6 p.m. June 13. A 30-year-old man was cited for following too closely and having no auto insurance.

24A 32-year-old man was taken to Froedtert Hospital for treatment of head pain after his vehicle was struck at 68th Street and Wisconsin Avenue on June 14. He was cited for driving without a license and having no car insurance. The driver of the striking vehicle, a 28-year-old woman, was cited for driving a vehicle with suspended registration and failing to yield the right of way.

25A 47-year-old woman was taken to Froedtert Hospital because she was feeling dizzy after the vehicle she was riding in was struck at Stickney and Ludington avenues at 5:11 p.m. June 14. Her 30-year-old daughter was cited for not wearing a seatbelt and having no auto insurance. A 45-year-old man was cited for failing to yield the right of way from a stop sign.

26A 41-year-old woman was taken to Froedtert Hospital after she fell asleep at the wheel, struck a pickup truck and drove her SUV onto a lawn in the 4300 block of North 95th Street at 4 p.m. June 17. Her 8-year-old daughter was in the backseat. The mother was cited for failing to keep her vehicle under control.

VANDALISM

27Air conditioner wires were cut at a home in the 10700 block of West Michigan Street prior to 11:30 a.m. June 9. Damage is estimated at $116.

28Two damaged mailboxes were found lying in the 400 block of North 113th Street at 9:10 a.m. June 17. Numerous other mailboxes had been damaged on 116th Street between Watertown Plank Road and Walnut Street.

OTHER

29A 22-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he started a fight during a basketball game at the West Suburban YMCA, 2420 N. 124th St., at 3:06 p.m. June 11. He punched a 15-year-old boy in the face and neck. He fled in a vehicle, which was stopped in the 8300 block of North Avenue.

30A 36-year-old Waukesha woman was arrested on a felony warrant for violating probation after she refused to leave Tosa Center for Pain Management, 1155 N. Mayfair Road, at 3:12 p.m. June 11. She went to the clinic to get a prescription for pain killer oxycodone but was denied after blood tests revealed she already had a high level of the drug in her system. When officers arrived, the woman tried to leave but she was found to be wanted by authorities in Williamson County, Tenn. She had been arrested for three counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud in Tennessee.

31Two Milwaukee boys, ages 14 and 17, were arrested for disorderly conduct after they were loud and used profane language on a Milwaukee County bus. The driver had to stop the bus twice to talk to the boys, who threatened to throw the driver off the bus. The driver feared for his safety and pulled over at Menomonee River Parkway and Harmonee Avenue at 9:46 a.m. June 12 to wait for police.

32A 29-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for aggressive panhandling after she was seen asking people for money to change the oil in her minivan at Swan Boulevard and Menomonee River Parkway at 6:19 p.m. June 12. She had a young child with her. She had been warned for panhandling six times since August, 2011, and arrested once.

33A 23-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested on a warrant for underage drinking after he appeared before the city's Legislation, Licensing and Communications Committee at City Hall, 7725 W. North Ave., attempting to receive a license to serve alcohol at 7:36 p.m. June 12.

34Two, 9-inch knives were found while doing yard maintenance at a commercial building in the 11900 block of West Burleigh Street at 10:59 a.m. June 14. The weapons were turned over to police to be destroyed.

35A 37-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he exposed himself and urinated in the bushes at the bus stop at 60th Street and North Avenue at 8:58 p.m. June 15.
