Police report: May 29

ROBBERY

1A man stole a cell phone and a wallet from a woman as she walked in the 3100 block of North 124th Street at 2 p.m. May 27. The man, who had the hood of his sweatshirt pulled tightly around his face, ran up to her and yelled, "Give me everything you got!"

BURGLARY

2A 53-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for burglary and possession of stolen property after he was found sitting in a car in a garage in the 2100 block of Swan Boulevard at 1:52 a.m. May 24. The owner heard his burglar alarm and saw the garage had been entered. He yelled at the man, who ran off but not before taking at GPS, valued at $300. Police watched the suspect's vehicle, parked nearby, until he returned to it at 4:25 a.m. He had about $20 in cash and coin, the GPS, two garage door openers, a handicap-parking placard and a cell phone in his pockets. The placard had been taken during a Milwaukee garage burglary in April. He also was arrested for having open intoxicants in his vehicle. He said he's addicted to crack and alcohol and lives in his car.

3A bicycle valued at $200 was taken from an unlocked garage in the 8300 block of Avon Court between 1 and 4 p.m. May 25.

4Five cartons of cigarettes were taken from Currie Park Auto, 10745 W. Capitol Drive, at 3:39 a.m. May 26. A window was broken, triggering the burglar alarm.

5Candy and soda valued at $20 were taken from the Little Red Store, 7720 Harwood Ave., between 3:15 p.m. May 26 and 9:05 a.m. May 27.

THEFT

6Two Milwaukee men, ages 21 and 40, were arrested for retail theft after they filled plastic bags with items valued at $131 at Kmart, 3201 N. Mayfair Road, at 3:12 p.m. May 21. One man was riding a handicap scooter and he was stopped at the door, while the other made a run for it and was stopped at 103rd and Burleigh streets. The duo were suspected of shoplifting from the store a week earlier.

7A 45-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for receiving stolen property after he took clothing valued at $70 from PacSun at Mayfair, 2500 N. Mayfair Road, at 6:12 p.m. May 21. Store clerks said they didn't want to press charges but they told police the man had stolen items in his backpack. He was stopped getting onto a bus at 102nd Street and North Avenue. He had items with security tags attached from Champs Sports, LensCrafters and Spencer's, all mall shops. He said he didn't steal the items but they were "hot" and he had paid $20 for them. He had been banned from the mall until 2014 for a prior incident and was arrested on a warrant for trespassing.

8A 32-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for retail theft and drug paraphernalia possession after he pulled a plastic bag from his pocket and filled it with clothing and hats, valued at $1,331, at Boston Store at Mayfair at 1:48 p.m. May 22. He had 21 arrests, mostly for retail theft, on his record. He had a crack pipe in his pocket and said he had been high for the past two days and believed jail would give him time to get clean.

9A 16-year-old Milwaukee boy was arrested for retail theft after he took jeans valued at $124 from Macy's at Mayfair at 7 p.m. May 22.

10A cell phone and videogame system, valued at $385, were taken from a home in the 2400 block of North 69th Street between 1 p.m. May 23 and 11:24 p.m. May 25.

11An 18-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for retail theft after he put seven cans of baby formula, valued at $119, into a diaper bag at Pick 'n Save, 6950 W. State St., at 8:09 p.m. May 23.

12Clothing, two GPS units and a gold bracelet, valued at $535, were taken from three unlocked vehicles in the 2400 block of Lefeber Avenue between 2 p.m. May 25 and 6 a.m. May 27.

13A wallet was taken from a shopper's purse at Macy's and credit cards were used to make fraudulent purchases at Kmart and the Apple Store totaling $2,150, between 3 and 5:50 p.m. May 25.

Police responded to 13 thefts of items valued at less than $100 in the past week.

ASSAULT

14A 30-year-old West Allis man was taken to Froedtert Hospital to get stitches on his chin after he was tackled behind Longfellow Middle School, 7600 W. North Ave., at 4:15 p.m. May 26. The man and his friend were tossing a football around when another man whom they didn't know asked if he could join in. After a few throws, he tackled the other man then punched him in the face. The two friends chased him until the suspect ran into traffic on North Avenue.

DRUG POSSESION

15A 20-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for marijuana possession after she was seen smoking with friends in the Dave & Buster's parking lot, 2201 N. Mayfair Road, at 9 p.m. May 23. She had 1.4 grams of the drug in her purse.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

16A 39-year-old New Berlin man was arrested for drunken driving, hit-and-run and resisting arrest after he struck a parked car and crashed into a front yard in the 8100 block of West Wisconsin Avenue at 5:53 p.m. May 23. He took off running, then returned briefly to grab is iPad before running off again. He was stopped in the 8000 block of Portland Avenue with cuts on his face. When the patrol car pulled up, he ran into a wooded area of Honey Creek Parkway. The police dog located him. He refused a breath test, so blood was drawn to determine his alcohol content.

17A 59-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested on a warrants - one with Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office for drunken driving, second offense, and two with Waukesha County Sheriff's Department for bail-jumping and drunken driving, third offense - when he was found wandering around the 500 block of North 68th Street at 3:01 p.m. May 26. He was highly intoxicated, walking with a cane and unable to provide identification. He said he had been drinking with friends and they had dropped him off in the street, and he didn't know where he was.

18A 24-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving after he made a wrong turn a 70th Street and Bluemound Road at 10:18 p.m. May 26. His blood alcohol content was 0.08. He had a warrant with the Greenfield Police Department.

19A 28-year-old Shorewood woman was arrested for drunken driving after she made a wrong turn at Mayfair and Bluemound roads, then pulled over to let her passenger open the door and vomit into the street at 2:03 a.m. May 27. The driver refused a breath test.

20A 36-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving after he struck a tree and drove another 50 feet into a ditch in the 3500 block of North Mayfair Road at 11:09 p.m. May 27. The car's bumper was left next to the tree. His BAC was 0.13.

VANDALISM

21A man dumped a 24-pack of bottled water and smashed numerous potted plants valued at $850 in front of Pick 'n Save, 1717 N. Mayfair Road, between 2:11 and 2:47 a.m. May 21.

22Two 19-year-old men - one from Milwaukee and one from Wauwatosa - were arrested for vandalism and trespassing after they entered the pool area and tried to break into the clubhouse at The Reserve apartments, 6100 W. State St., at 10:42 p.m. May 24. They tried to push open windows and force open a door, causing damage estimated at $250. One of the men said his mother was on a wait list for an apartment so he believed it entitled him to use the hot tub inside the clubhouse. It turned out his mother had only toured the facility. They were accompanied by an 18-year-old Wauwatosa man and a 19-year-old West Allis man, who also were cited for trespassing.

23A brick was thrown through the front window of a home in the 7200 block of West Center Street, causing $2,500 in damage, at 12:16 a.m. May 28.

OTHER

24A woman passed a counterfeit $100 bill that turned out to be a washed $5 bill at Target, 3900 N. 124th St., at 8:10 p.m. May 20.

25A 14-year-old Wauwatosa girl was cited for habitual truancy for the second time this school year at 1:58 p.m. May 24. She had missed part or all of 40 school days during the spring semester at Whitman Middle School, 11100 W. Center St.

26Two women made small purchases at Target and paid with $100 bills that turned out to be washed $5 bills at 9:57 p.m. May 26. They were seen entering the same waiting vehicle.

27A 24-year-old West Bend man was arrested for bail-jumping and violating his probation with the state Department of Corrections after he fell asleep in his truck at Mobil gas station, 3106 N. Mayfair Road, at 10:08 p.m. May 27. He parked between gas islands and refused to move for more than hour. He had multiple arrests for bail-jumping and two open cases in Washington County. Maintaining absolute sobriety is a condition of his bail, but his BAC was 0.16.

Police responded to two domestic violence incidents in the past week.
