Women's Tennis League of Wauwatosa has openings

East eighth-graders fifth in state invite tourney

The Wauwatosa East 8th grade boys basketball team finished fifth in Division 1 in the Wisconsin State Invitational Championship Tournament in Marshfield and Stevens Point on March 26-27.

Tosa East (5-1) was coached by Jim Cupertino and Tom Hayden. Andre Carroll and Diamond Stone were All-Tournament team for Division 1.

Wrestling Club wine, beer tasting set for May 6

The Tosa Wrestling Club has announced that it will host the third annual Wine vs. Beer Tasting Matchup on May 6 at the Wauwatosa Woman's Club from 6 to 9 p.m.

Wines and beers from around the world will be featured, along with appetizers and desserts by Bunzel's Catering. Coffee and soda also will be available.

The event will include a silent auction and Liam Ford, two-time winner of the Wisconsin Area Music Industry Awards and two-time nominee (2010 and 2011) for best Americana Band, will be the entertainment.

In addition, a Milwaukee river cruise and a one-week vacation in Florida will be auctioned off. The event also will feature specialty wine and gift basket raffles.

Tickets are $30 per person prior to May 1 and $40 at the door the night of the event. Checks can be mailed to: Kathy Kendl, Tosa Wrestling Club treasurer, 5827 W. Wells St., Wauwatosa, WI 53213. Include your name, email address and telephone number with your order.

New Berlin Hills has openings for morning league

The New Berlin Hills A-C Ladies Thursday Morning 9-hole Golf League is looking for new members.

The league begins the first week in May and continues through September, with a short-season from mid-June through mid-August.

The Naga-Waukee Women of Wisconsin Golf League welcomes women golfers of all skill levels.
