Trojan Basketball Club setsboys, girls tryout times

The Trojan Basketball Club has set tryout schedules for the upcoming fall/winter leagues.

Boys schedule: Sept. 19, Whitman, 6 to 7:30 p.m. (grades four through five); 7:30 to 9 p.m.; (grade seven); Sept. 21, Whitman, 7:30 to 9 p.m. (grades six through eight); Sept. 23, Tosa West, 6 to 7:30 p.m. (grades four, five, seven); 7:30 to 9 p.m.; (grades six and eight).

Girls schedule: Sept. 19, Whitman, 7:30 to 9 p.m. (grades seven and eight); Sept. 21, Whitman, 6 to 7:30 p.m. (grades five and six); Sept. 22, Whitman. 6 to 7:30 p.m. (grades five through six); 7:30 to 9 p.m. (grades seven and eight).

Trojan Basketball Clubto add girls teams

The Trojans Basketball Club will add new teams for fifth through eighth grade girls, with league play beginning this fall and continuing through the winter months.

A parent information meeting will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 15 in the Trojan Room at Wauwatosa West. Contact is Ken Rudzinski at (414) 731-9411. Landisch fundraiser scheduled for Sept. 16

As former Wauwatosa West boys basketball coach Mike Landisch continues to fight cancer, a fundraiser has been set for Sept. 16 at Kelly's Bleachers, 5218 W. Bluemound Road.

The $15 cover charge includes soda and hors d'oeuvres and live music from Travesty.

A silent auction/raffle will run from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Landisch has been battling the disease for two years.

He lost his coaching job at Tosa West last season when his contract was not renewed.

Basketball RAP Programto begin in September

Basketball RAP - the Rapid Acceleration Program fall academy will commence in the third week of September.

The personalized training sessions encourage the self-discipline, fitness and positive attitude needed for athletics, academics and personal success.

Outreach for Hope planning afamily bike ride Saturday

Outreach for Hope, an ELCA Lutheran-based charity that helps people throughout the Greater Milwaukee and southeastern Wisconsin areas who are struggling with poverty, is holding a Family Bike Ride fundraiser Saturday.

Registration is $25 for adults, $15 for children and $45 per family. A noon picnic lunch is included for those who register.

Milwaukee Wave announceindoor training program

The Milwaukee Wave will have a new winter indoor training program conducted by players and coaches from the Wave Academy who represent countries from around the world.

The Wave Academy's advanced training will offer players U8 - U14 the opportunity to develop into a more confident player. The winter indoor training will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Nov. 1 through April 5 at Uihlein Soccer Park from 4 to 6 p.m.

Sessions will be offered every four weeks allowing players to learn different techniques to make them a better player.

'Lombardi' tickets on sale at Milwaukee Rep Theater

Tickets are on sale for The Milwaukee Repertory Theater's production of Eric Simonson's Broadway play "Lombardi."

The play will run Oct. 11 through Nov. 13.
