WBC sets grades 4-7 tryouts April 23-24 at Tosa East

The Wauwatosa Basketball Club has set tryouts for Eastside Tosa girls currently in grades fourth through seventh.

The tryouts are set for Wauwatosa East High School on April 23 and 24.

Current fourth- and fifth-graders should report to the East gym from 6-8 p.m. on April 23. Current sixth- and seventh-graders should report to the East gym from 6-8 p.m. on April 24.

Tosa Wrestling Club Fundraiser set for April 27

The Tosa Wrestling Club will host the fourth annual Wine vs. Beer Tasting Matchup from 6 to 9 p.m. April 27 at the Wauwatosa Woman's Club.

Wines and beers from around the world will be featured, along with appetizers and desserts by Bunzel's Catering, plus coffee and soda.

The event will include live music and a silent auction, featuring hotel and restaurant offerings, golf packages, and especially for Mother's Day shoppers, a large assortment of jewelry and handmade items. The event also will feature specialty wine and gift basket raffles.

Tickets are $30 before April 20 and $40 at the door.

Checks can be mailed to Kathy Kendl, Tosa Wrestling Club treasurer, at 5827 W. Wells St., Wauwatosa, WI 53213. Include your name, email address and telephone number with your order.

All proceeds will benefit the Tosa Wrestling Club, a nonprofit organization offering programs that develop character by teaching and demonstrating positive values that serve as a foundation for healthy lifestyles.

The nonprofit Tosa Wrestling Club annually provides wrestling instruction for more than 200 youth from second grade through high school.

Trojan Basketball Club seeks boys/girls coaches

The Trojan Basketball Club is looking for volunteer coaches for the upcoming fifth through eighth grade summer leagues.

Coaches are needed for a few of the summer league girls and boys teams. TBC emphasizes fundamentals, teamwork, sportsmanship and the importance of academics first. The club is a youth feeder program for boys who will be attending Wauwatosa West High School with aspirations to play at the varsity level.

A high percentage of TBC athletes have gone on to play varsity basketball at West. If you are interested in helping to teach and inspire the next wave of Wauwatosa West basketball players, call Ken Rudzinski at (414) 731-9411.

Tosa Tennis Club looking for players

The Wauwatosa Women's Tennis Club is looking for players. Wauwatosa residency is not a requirement.

Play begins the week of June 3 and ends Aug. 12. The deadline for registering is April 9. Download the form at

Complete the information on the form and mail it along with a check to the chairperson listed on the form. Matches are played at Hart Park.

There are daytime singles, doubles and evening matches on Wednesday and Thursday.

Jr. Raider Football sign-up under way

The Junior Raider Football program is accepting registration for the 2012 season.

The Jr. Raiders will field teams from fifth to eighth grade.

To be eligible, players must either live or attend school in the Wauwatosa East attendance area.

Tosa East baseball sets fundraiser for May 4

The 11th annual Friends of Tosa East Baseball Fundraiser is set for 6 to 10:30 p.m. May 4 at the Tosa Room in the Muellner Building at Hart Park.

The cost is $20 for a silent auction, bean toss Baggo tournament, raffles, music and complimentary food and beverages.

Wanaki Tee-Totalers seek members for Tuesdays

The Wanaki Tee-Totalers are seeking new members for their Tuesday morning golf league. The nine-hole, non-handicapped league begins May 8. For information, call (262) 787-0244.

The Wanaki Ladies Golf League is seeking members for The Golf Belles, a nine-hole Thursday morning league that runs May 31 through Aug. 31.

Naga-Waukee league looking for members

The Tuesday women's 18-hole golf league at Naga-Waukee Golf Course is accepting members for the 2012 season. All players must have a handicap of 36 or less.

Play begins in May and continues throughout the summer. Golf begins about 6:45 a.m. and continues until about 8:30 a.m.

New Berlin Hills golf league seeks new members

The New Berlin Hills A-C Ladies Thursday morning nine-hole golf league is looking for members.

Play begins the first Thursday in May and continues through September.
