TOSA BASEBALL LEAGUE

Rookie League

Bullfrogs 4, Snappers 3 - On June 23 Michael Rentmeester and Will Novotny had two hits each and Parker Wilke and Spencer Kim added a hit apiece. Great fielding also helped key the win.

Bullfrogs 15, Blue Thunder 3 - On June 27 James Allbright and Nathan Dimino each had two hits and an RBI. Lamar Smith had a great catch and added a triple, while Zach Peterson hit the Bullfrogs' first home run.

Riverbats 12, Ironbirds 11 - The Ironbirds lost a nail-biter on Monday, as Xander Biggam led the team with three hits and four RBIs. Miles Menos also had three hits and two RBIs and Jake Long had two hits and two RBIs. Jonathan Copenhaver, Cameron Biggam and Finn Somers each had three hits. Carter Wilson, Connor Neikirk and Calvin Schwake each had two hits and an RBI. Parker Schwake, Trey Cotey and Michael Zidanic each also contributed two hits.

Timber Rattlers 14, Ironbirds 5 - Finn Somers had a great game tonight leading our team with two hits and two RBIs. Xander Biggam, Carter Wilson and Calvin Schwake each had two hits and an RBI. Jonathan Copenhaver, Parker Schwake and Trey Cotey each contributed two hits. In the first inning Parker Schwake made a great defensive play in RF with an amazing catch. Calvin Schwake also had a great catch at first base to get the team the important third out.

World League

Surf Dawgs 14, Riversharks 9 - Surf Dawgs played an awesome game against the Riversharks, as Brady Ingbretson hit a bases-loaded triple, Ben Miller hit a 2-run single and Aidan Mayes hit a double. The Dawgs defense also played well as pitcher Colin Stiff and third baseman Gabe Anguil each caught pop-ups. Daniel Hertzfeldt also had a good play at third.

Surf Dawgs 19, Mud Hens 0 - In the June 25 win, Matthew Scott and Oliver Sgrignuoli each doubled and Marcus Mbow slammed a 3-run homer. The fielding also stood out and pitcher Ben Monty pitched a 1-2-3 inning.

Surf Dawgs 10, Rockhounds 7- The Surf Dawgs had an amazing game at Helfaer Field with great outfielding with a double play at second and first. Brady Ingbretson also caught a pop fly out along with Ben Monty. Aidan Mayes, Dylan Parker and Ben Monty all had doubles. Colin Stiff had a triple as did Dylan Parker.

Surf Dawgs 11, Scorpions 5 - Dylan Parker and Ben Monty had quick innings as pitchers. Liam Phillips had a triple and Oliver Sgrignuoli had a double.

Stingers 7, Red Hawks 4 - To start off the bottom of the first, Mason Boeckeler scooped a groundout at second and threw the batter out. Shortstop Ben Murphy made an awesome catch and throw to first baseman Wesley Miller in the second inning. In the third inning, Dimetrious Dalton made a key play at first. Tyler Piek made three outstanding defensive plays at first base for all three outs of the fifth inning. Hitting, good pitch selection and base stealing was key to the victory as well. Will Haeflinger smacked a solid hit that drove in the first run of the game. Playing in his first game after coming off a season-long injury, Colin Oquist took a base on balls that sparked a 5-run rally in the second inning. The game ended after a great catch by Ben Murphy at first base.

Stingers 8, Rockhounds 6 - The Stingers fought back June 26 from an early deficit to beat the Rockhounds. Ty Sutherland made two awesome plays in the infield for key outs. Ben Murphy got to third base and drove in two runs in the second inning and hit a home run in the fourth. Sam Cook had a great catch at third base for a timely out. Second baseman Aidan Brousseau made an outstanding stop, tossed it to shortstop Ben Murphy for the out at second. Jack Clossey had a great debut at pitcher, striking out his first batter and pitching a scoreless inning. Pitcher Grant Winkel struck out a batter and snagged two grounders to end the game.

Stingers 14, Sea Dogs 3 - The Stingers held onto an early lead to win the game on Saturday morning. Dimetrious Dalton smacked a 2-run single to contribute to the early lead. Tyler Piek had a hit with an RBI and also hit a 3-run double. Ty Sutherland hit a bases-loaded triple to secure the lead. Striking out his first batter, Colin Oquist pitched a scoreless inning in his debut at the mound. The Stingers pitching was solid and backed by key defensive plays by Grant Winkel, Wesley Miller and Henry Lehman.

American Divison

Rangers 16, A's 2 - On June 29 these teams played a makeup game because the original game was canceled due to the extreme heat. The A's came on board with only eight players which did not work in their favor. They struggled all through the game with a few highlights toward the end. In top of sixth Tucker Osman stole second and third, eventually scoring one of the A's two runs. In the bottom of the sixth, Tucker Osman's diving catch was the other highlight.
