NACE to Help Resurrect Milwaukee's Small Business Vitality from Near Death

Feb. 3, 2012

Milwaukee, WI - February 2, 2012
Dropping from 77th to 96th place out of 100 cities, Milwaukee’s small business vitality now ranks almost dead last, just above Detroit (i). Small businesses here need a real boost. In response to this poor outlook, the National Association of Catering Executives (NACE) has partnered with Tim Vertz of Vertz Marketing (ii) to offer a seven-part series for technology in today’s marketplace, beginning on Wednesday, February 8th, 2012. This is the first time NACE has offered such an event, aimed at helping small business owners improve business vitality by making the most of modern technology, such as Facebook and Twitter.

“Social media is so broad that you need a strategy to learn and keep pace with advancements, so that your business will continue to grow. The NACE seminars will offer a wealth of information from an industry expert, providing a huge return on a mere $10 investment to attend,” stated Emily Neubauer, NACE member and owner of Belle Fiori florist shop. She continued, “Enjoy a continental breakfast, network with other small business owners, and learn how to increase your small business’ vitality with us!”

The first seminar will be an introductory look at Facebook, how to create a solid business presence and the basics of setting up, maintaining, and promoting a small business on Facebook. Later seminar topics include Advanced Facebook for Business, Foursquare & Twitter, Blog Marketing, and other social media marketing techniques to boost Milwaukee’s small business exposure in today’s marketplace.

The seminars will be held in the Miller Visitor Center, 4251 West State St. Check-in begins at 7:30 am and seating is limited to 105 people; interested parties must pre-register online at www.WisconsinNACE.com. The seminars run until 9:30 am, are free for NACE members and cost $10 for non-members.

About NACE: NACE is the oldest and largest professional association that addresses all aspects of the catering industry. Through the collective efforts of members, local chapters, committees and the Foundation, NACE is at the forefront of the issues that directly affect small businesses (iii).
