If you love to dance. - here's your chance! Esprit Poms & Dance Team to Hold Open Tryouts in March

March 12, 2012

After finishing another amazing and fun-filled season which culminated with a truly unforgettable trip to Orlando, Florida with the Badgerette All Star Talent Tour, Esprit is holding open tryouts for their new 2012-13 season.

Esprit is an independent (all-star) competition dance team. Esprit was started in 1990 through the Wauwatosa Recreation Department, and is celebrating 22 years of excellence and good sportsmanship this year. Esprit participates in all Badgerette competitions, camps, workshops and related events for the best pompon squads in the Midwest.

Esprit's senior team, comprised of students entering 8th through 12th grade, will conduct an informational tryout meeting on Thursday, March 22nd at Washington Elementary School's gym, at 6:30pm. Tryout packets will be distributed and an overview of the season will be presented to anyone who is interested in becoming a part of this unique team. Parents are encouraged to attend with students. Following the very brief meeting, interested tryout candidates will learn basic pompon & dance team skills along with a portion of a basic tryout routine. Tryout rehearsals will continue on March 27, 28, & 29 at Washington Elementary (6:30pm-8pm). Final evaluations and team selection will take place on Saturday, March 31st, at Wauwatosa West High School's cafeteria, from 8am-Noon.

Esprit's JUNIOR team, a younger sister squad, comprised of students entering 5th through 8th grade will also conduct tryouts in April starting with an informational meeting on April 3rd at Washington Elementary School starting at 6:30pm. Junior Team tryout packets will be distributed and an overview of their season will be presented. Parents are encouraged to attend with students. Following this brief meeting, interested candidates will stay to learn pompon basics and a portion of a tryout routine. Final evaluations and team selection will take place on Thursday, April 5th at Washington.

Interested candidates do not need to prepare anything prior to tryouts - we will teach you all you need to know. If interested candidates have a conflict with any of the tryout rehearsals or final evaluations, contact Esprit's coach at jppremetz@att.net or (414) 243-1938 to arrange an alternate/private audition.
