Donor Makes Unprecedented Investment In Milwaukee Jewish Day School, Making First-Year Tuition-Free For Majority Of New Students
Grant Program provides significant tuition grants to all current and new students at MJDS.
On Monday, April 23rd, Milwaukee Jewish Day School (MJDS) announced that an anonymous local donor is making an unprecedented investment in MJDS’ students and school, through the “Building Our Future” Grant Program, a generous tuition assistance program available to all MJDS students. Through the program, new students entering grades 1 -7 for the 2012-13 school year will have their first year tuition completely subsidized; they will also receive sizeable tuition grants to help pay tuition in future years at MJDS. All other students, both current and new, are eligible for grants to help make tuition even more accessible and affordable.
“At MJDS, we value our rigorous academic programs, superior faculty and our commitment to instilling strong Jewish values in our students,” said Head of School Brian King. ”It is encouraging and humbling that this local donor believes so deeply in the value of MJDS that the individual is making an extraordinary investment in our students and our school.”
The “Building Our Future” Grant Program is being provided independent of financial need and can be combined with existing financial assistance programs. For many families, this program will serve to eliminate any financial barrier to attendance when used in combination with existing financial need-based programs.
“We are tremendously excited by the opportunity this program presents, not only for individual students and their families, but for the school,” said King. “The program provides MJDS with a rock-solid foundation as we build for the future, enabling us to make our exceptional education even better by enhancing recruitment and retention, enriching the size and vibrancy of classrooms and serving as a springboard for future community investment in the school.”
MJDS offers Jewish children in kindergarten through eighth grade an exceptional high school preparatory, Hebrew, and Jewish education. The value of the MJDS experience is demonstrated in the quality of their graduates and their success in high school and beyond. In addition to Hebrew and Jewish studies, students receive comprehensive instruction in all aspects of language arts, science, math, social studies, and physical education as well as creative and innovative programming in the visual and performing arts, music, and computer technology.
Additional information, as well as a schedule of open houses and school tours, is available at www.mjds.org or through the MJDS’ admissions office at 414-967-8314.
