Friends, family and former parishioners will gather at Christ Pond Retreat Center, N1599 Wisconsin 57, Random Lake, to honor The Reverend Richard P. Buchman’s five decades in the ministry on September 16, 2012, at 10:00 a.m.
ChristPond Executive Director, Daniel Thurmer, said, “The 10:00 a.m. service will be a gathering of friends, former parishioners, community leaders, and family as we celebrate Rev. Buchman’s ministry. The worship service will be presentations by four participants sharing the impact Rev. Buchman’s ministry has had in the development of faith. All are welcome to this ecumenical service, expected to he held outdoors. The service will be followed by a light lunch.”
Rev. Buchman, a Yale graduate and former naval officer, left a career in the steel industry to attend seminary. He graduated from Union Theological Seminary in New York City after studying under theologian Reinhold Niebuhr. During his career, Rev. Buchman served at Hitchcock Presbyterian Church, Scarsdale, NY; First Congregational Church, Wauwatosa, WI; Cadman Memorial Church, Brooklyn, NY; North Shore Congregational Church, Fox Point, WI; and as the founding minister of Ozaukee Congregational Church, Grafton, WI.
Other positions held by Rev. Buchman are Manager, Urban Affairs, Allis-Chalmers Corporation; Secretary, Allis-Chalmers Foundation; and Consulting Manager, Faye McBeath Foundation. Additionally, Rev. Buchman has been very active on numerous boards of directors and a strong leader in community affairs. Rev. Buchman and his wife, Sandy, have six children and ten grandchildren. They love to travel and spend time with family and friends.

An alternate route is: Guests coming from the south should take HWY 43, towards Green Bay, (do not take Hwy 57, as the detour will take you back to HWY 43), get off at the Oostburg exit, Hwy AA , go west, (left turn), AA becomes HWY A, it will take you through Oostburg, stay on A all the way to HWY 57. Take a left turn, (south), go through barricades, to ChristPond, about a mile. Guests coming from the north should take HWY 57 through the barricades.
