UW-Waukesha Continuing Education offers classes in personal enrich¬ment, undergraduate credit courses and professional certificates for community members of every stage of life. We invite our valuable customers to engage and channel their time and energy into seizing the day and exploring all that our classes have to offer. Classes are held at UW-Waukesha unless otherwise noted.

Continuing Photoshop/Photoshop Elements Part 2

Take your skills in Photoshop to the next level! Discover the additional tools and creative techniques in Photoshop and Photoshop Elements to further enhance your photographs. See how new concepts with blending can transform your photos. Computer experience is required for this class and access to Photoshop or Photoshop Elements on your home computer is necessary to complete the course work.

The Civil War: History I Wish I Had Learned in School

Calling all history buffs! Over 600,000 died and a new nation was re-born 150 years ago in the bloodiest, most devastating conflict in American History. Political hardliners, romantic idealists, modern weapons of mass destruction, heroes and hooligans were all part of the American Civil War. Civil War enthusiasts, genealogists and amateur historians will learn what the whole shebang was about as we explore the war through documentaries, audio/visual aids and lecture.

Wildlife Photography Workshop

Love National Geographic? Try your hand at mesmerizing wildlife pictures! Great wildlife photos start with proper equipment and camera settings, after that it is a waiting game. Start with a classroom session covering all the proper technical information on settings and equipment for great wildlife shots. Then it is off to the Milwaukee County Zoo with on-site help from your instructor! Finish the class with a critique session. Students are responsible for admission and parking fees at the zoo photo shoot.

Simple composition tips to guarantee a great shot! Create outstanding photographs by implementing basic composition techniques and gain new insight in photography. On the second evening of class, students will be asked to bring in their photographs for a photo critique on composition.

Learn the latest in engineering from LEGO! Prep your little engineer to become part of this exciting program! Redefine classroom robotics by building and programming their machine. Work with simple motors, tilt and motion sensors then work with computer software to make them come alive. Bridge the physical and virtual worlds through hands-on learning that promotes creative thinking, teamwork and problem solving skills, which are essential in today’s workplace. Please bring a lunch.
