Amy Irene Guise, M.D., returns to her position as assistant professor of urology at the Medical College of Wisconsin after she spent a year at a practice in Fairbanks, Alaska. She sees patients and operates at Froedtert Hospital and the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center.
Board certified in urology, Dr. Guise specializes in the treatment of kidney stones.
After earning her M.D. from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis in 2005, Dr. Guise completed a residency in urology at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2010. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry from Bellarmine University in Louisville, Ky., in 2001.
Dr. Guise was published in the Journal of Urology in 2011. The editors selected her research study on the effects of concentrated estrogen on the immune response of cancer cells in urinary tract tissue to the tuberculosis vaccine (the vaccine has been found to treat some cancers). Dr. Guise also received a second place Wisconsin Urologic Society Resident Award in 2007.
