Wisconsin Christmas Carnival of Lights to Support Ronald McDonald House Charities Eastern Wisconsin
The Wisconsin Christmas Carnival of Lights at Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resort will be donating $1 from each car, up to $4,000, that visits the holiday lights display to Ronald McDonald House Charities Eastern Wisconsin. The gift will help support the charity’s mission to provide a “home away from home” for families of seriously ill or injured children.
“As a family-oriented destination, we understand the impact that family time and support can have on children,” said Bridget Bender, Jellystone’s general manager. “The Ronald McDonald House provides an invaluable service to parents, which helps them flourish and focus on what’s important – the health of their child. We’re happy to support the House, and through them, families in need.”
The campground will also cover the entrance fee for approximately 100 carloads filled with existing and previous guests of the Ronald McDonald House.
“We are thankful for Jellystone’s support this holiday season,” said Ann Petrie, president and chief executive officer of Ronald McDonald House Charities Eastern Wisconsin. “These families have been through a lot, so the comfort and support we are able to provide really helps lift their spirits, and community sponsorships like these allow us to make that possible.
Southeastern Wisconsin’s largest holiday lights display is located just 20 minutes south of Milwaukee in Caledonia. It features 1.3 million lights that are wrapped around the cabins, buildings and more than 500 trees on Jellystone’s campground.
While in the comfort of their warm vehicles, families take a one-mile tour through the light display, and afterward have the option to stop in Jellystone’s Ranger Station to enjoy hot apple cider, coffee and espresso drinks. Children can also visit with Santa or write him a letter.
Wisconsin Christmas Carnival of Lights is open Nov. 30 through Dec. 31, with the exception of Christmas Day. Hours are 5-9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 5-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The entry fee for carloads with up to eight people is $15 and $22 for limos, buses and large passenger vans.
Several participating McDonalds restaurants in Oak Creek and Racine are offering coupons for discounted admission.
