Bartelt Wins Four Gold Wisconsin Remodeler of the Year Awards

Jan. 21, 2014

Bartelt. The Remodeling Resource, a premier, family-owned remodeling firm specializing in residential and commercial design and construction, took home four gold Wisconsin Remodeler of the Year Awards (WRAs) on Friday, January 17, 2014. The Bartelt team was recognized in the Residential Interior Over $100,000, Entire House $250,000 - $500,000, Entire House $500,000 - $1,000,000, and Website categories.

"We are very proud of this achievement," said Rick Bartelt, owner. "These awards are the result of the creativity and expertise of our entire team, including our designers, carpenters, production staff, trade partners, and customers."

The Wisconsin Remodeler of the Year Awards is an annual event hosted by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI). It is an opportunity to honor the outstanding work its members have accomplished throughout the year.

The winning Bartelt projects each had unique components. The Residential Interior Over $100,000 home was dated and compartmentalized. Bartelt created a layout conducive to entertaining and introduced a rustic aesthetic to complement the clients' heavily wooded lot. It features textured granite, hand-scraped floors, hand-trowelled plaster walls, custom cabinetry, and other rustic details.

After previous additions, the Entire House $250,000 - $500,000 home was dated, and its spaces lacked unity. Bartelt updated the entire first floor, creating a cohesive design throughout the rooms and accommodating the family's lifestyle. The project integrates modern details with traditional elements and includes coffered ceilings, marble, a butler's pantry with gold leaf tiles, and custom cabinetry and millwork.

The Entire House $500,000 - $1,000,000 remodel returned an 1880s farmhouse back to its original charm. Bartelt updated the entire first floor and built a sunroom addition that complements the home's existing details. The project is a mix of rustic and refined elements, featuring reclaimed barn beams, coffered ceilings, white custom cabinetry, fieldstone, and character-grade hickory flooring with hand-eased edges.

The Bartelt website was designed with Orion Group in Sussex. The website is easy to navigate and serves as the company's online "hub." It includes professional photography and useful content, including Bartelt’s blog.

Founded in 1984, Bartelt. The Remodeling Resource has won local, regional, and national industry awards, including 2013 Regional and National "Contractor of the Year" (CotY) awards presented by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI). With in-house designers, production staff, and expert carpenters, Bartelt is a member of the Milwaukee/NARI Home Improvement Council, Inc. and Metropolitan Builders Association.
