The sale of engraved bricks to support the Tosa Skatepark is coming to a close Feb. 28. Starting at $100, the personalized bricks will be used in the entrance to the skate park planned for Hart Park.

Judy Doyle, who has led the grassroots Tosa Skateboarders United group with her husband, said they have raised $340,000 in total for the design and construction of the skate park. Their original goal was $240,000 with $80,000 from the city, $80,000 donated personally by the Doyles, and $80,000 raised by the group.

The more money TSU can raise, the more features they will be able to include in the park, Doyle said. The project is set to go out to bid in the next few weeks for an opening this summer.
