A look inside classrooms in the Wauwatosa School District

East

Wauwatosa East High School's commencement ceremony is June 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the gymnasium.

Summer school begins June 22.

Eisenhower

June 12 is the last day of classes for elementary and middle school students in the district.

Fifth-grade promotion was June 9.

Jefferson

A fifth-grade luncheon and celebration is June 12 from noon to 3 p.m.

Lincoln

A fifth-grade recognition ceremony was June 9. Fifth graders also traveled to an art museum that day.

The school district participated in a pet food drive for the Wisconsin Humane Society and collected 290 pounds of food for animals awaiting new homes. The food was delivered on May 16.

Longfellow

Auditions for the Children's Theatre of Wauwatosa were held June 8 for sixth through 12th grades at Longfellow Middle School, and callbacks were June 10. Rehearsals for the fall performance of "Pinocchio" will be Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 9 p.m., beginning Sept. 9. Tentative performance dates are Oct. 16, 17, 23 and 24.

The eighth grade visited Great America June 11.

Longfellow's eighth-grade promotion is June 12 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Madison

A fifth-grade recognition assembly and celebration were both held June 10.

Trimester three progress reports for the district will be mailed home June 17.

McKinley

June 19 marks an open parent morning for summer school in the district. The day offers the opportunity for parents and their children to walk through their schedule for summer school.

Roosevelt

The school held a freeze pop social June 10.

A fifth-grade promotion ceremony is June 11 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the school gymnasium.

St. Joseph Catholic

The school will hold a rummage sale June 18-20.

St. Jude the Apostle

The school held a closing prayer service in the large gymnasium June 5 before summer vacation.

Underwood

First-grade students will take a trip to Old World Wisconsin June 11.

A fifth-grade promotion celebration will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. June 12 in the gymnasium. A root beer float party also will be held that day from 2 to 3 p.m.

Wauwatosa Montessori

A parent appreciation breakfast was held June 10.

The school is seeking three parent ambassadors. The program was set up for families who are moving to Wauwatosa and are comparing schools within the district or are looking at other schools in the district. Ambassadors would set up a tour for families to visit the school and learn more.

Washington

A fifth-grade promotion ceremony will be held June 12. The class will also take a bowling field trip that day from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

Wauwatosa Catholic

An eighth-grade graduation mass and celebration were held June 5 at Wauwatosa Catholic School.

West

Wauwatosa West High School's commencement ceremony is June 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at West Stadium.

Whitman

The Whitman Chorus Concert was June 9 in the school's gymnasium.

An awards ceremony for seventh-grade students is June 12 from 8:15 to 9 a.m.

Wilson/STEM

A fifth grade promotion ceremony will take place June 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the school's gymnasium.
