Esther O'Brien will appear in Milwaukee Rep Theater's production of The Color Purple

Sept. 5, 2014

Esther O’Brien will soon be appearing in Milwaukee Repertory Theater’s upcoming production of The Color Purple. She will be in the Child Ensemble. Esther, age 16, is no stranger to the acting world. Deciding to pursue her passion in theater, Esther made the decision last year, as a freshman, to be homeschooled. She is currently in the 10thgrade and homeschooled through the online program, Wisconsin Connection Academy.

She feels that theater has brought healing to her life, and has given her a voice and ability to help others with this gift. She is excited for the wonderful opportunity to join the cast of The Color Purple, and add this incredible event to her already impressive acting resume. She loves the story of faith and hopes that The Color Purple delivers to the audience and hopes to be of inspiration to many. Esther’s acting history includes: Shrek (First Stage), Charlotte’s Web as Charlotte (Milwaukee Youth Theatre), The Miracle Worker as Percy (Waukesha Civic Theater) and To The Promised Land as Ruth (First Stage).

The Color Purple runs September 23 - November 2, 2014 at Milwaukee Repertory Theater in the Quadracci Powerhouse. For more information or to buy tickets go to www.MilwaukeeRep.com or call 414-224-9490.
