NEWS AND NOTES

Meeting notes: Barb Lauenstein introduced WWHS Key Club co-presidents Katy Schmutzer & Anthony Stolar. Barb's fellow Key Club advisor, Doug Braun, was with us for a brief time, but he had to interrupt his lunch and get back to policing. There were over 200 students at the last Key club meeting, so Katy and Tony have a big job. They are planning several service projects for the next two months. The word on the street is that the Wauwatosa Relay for Life wants to join up with the Key Club because of the Club's huge success the last few years.

Happy dollars came in from Dave Eppelsheimer for the Key Club; Gary Kreuger, for his thirteenth grandchild; Andy Barnes, for Barb's efforts and the huge Key Club roster; from Barb, for Kiwanis' support of the Key Club; President Tom, for Andy's contribution to the Key Club; Ed Ellingson, for help and support with the wine & beer tasting; Bob Reinhardt, for his daughter Jane's birthday and the purchase of her first home; Eli Potkonjak, for his health, after several weeks of flu, daughter Mary's success in college Paris, and daughter Katie's roles in the WWHS's production of "Oliver" (Nov. 6, 7, 8, 13, and 14).

Wine and beer tasting: Manpower assignments are on the attached list. There are still some open spots, so call Ed Ellingson if you can handle an assignment (771-7140, ed.ellingson@zerrecon.com). Larry Schneider (410-2981 ext 181, lschneider@prarch.com) needs silent auction items.

Germantown interclub: Peter Brusky reported that the Germantown interclub went as planned. Five members of the Germantown club were there, including several village executives.

Venturing Crew: You can support the Crew by buying wreaths and garlands. See or call Bob Gross (262-446-0000 x202, bob@grossautomation.com).

Pancakes with the Lions: Bob G. also announced that the Wauwatosa Lions will be hosting their pancake breakfast at from 8 to 10 AM on Saturday, October 31. The Lions always support our events, and some reciprocal support would be good. Call Bob for tickets.

Program assignments: November 3 – committee meetings. November 10 – Dave Eppelsheimer (speaker will be Tom Nelson. November 17 – Gary Krueger (speaker will be the principal of Wauwatosa School of Trades). November 24 – annual East Side meeting and field trip to Downer Wine & Spirits.
