Pediatric-Adolescent Gynecologist Dr. Seema joins Medical College faculty at Froedtert and Children's Hospital
Seema Menon, M.D., has been appointed assistant professor of obstetrics & gynecology at The Medical College of Wisconsin and to the medical staffs of Froedtert Hospital and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, major teaching affiliates of the College.
Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Menon’s patient care emphases includes pediatric and adolescent gynecology, medical and surgical management of menorrhagia (an abnormally heavy and prolonged menstrual period), dysmenorrheal (painful cramps during menstruation), chronic pelvic pain, endometriosis, amenorrhea (the absence of a menstrual period), polycystic ovarian syndrome, abnormal cervical cytology management, sexually transmitted infections, as well as general obstetrics and gynecology. She practices in the Adolescent Medicine Clinic at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and the Obstetrics & Gynecology Clinic at Froedtert Hospital.
Dr. Menon was previously assistant professor at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. While there, she was also director of resident research for the department of obstetrics and gynecology.
Much of Dr. Menon’s research centers around pediatric and adolescent gynecology.
She completed post-doctoral research training in the reproductive research unit of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Philadelphia, from 2005 to 2006.
She served her residency in gynecology and obstetrics at Pennsylvania Hospital – University of Pennsylvania Health System, Philadelphia, in 2005. During her residency, she received the University of Pennsylvania Medical Student Teaching Award two years in a row and the Ob-Gyn Excellence in Teaching Award.
She received her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit, in 2001 and a bachelor of science degree from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 1996.
