Luther Manor announces 2013-14 officers, directors

The 2013-14 leadership was recently elected for non-profit senior living community Luther Manor.

Officers and directors were elected during the annual meeting of Luther Manor’s governing body, the United Lutheran Program for the Aging. The United Lutheran Program for the Aging (ULPA) is a nonprofit organization of about 70 affiliated Lutheran congregations dedicated to serving older adults.

Luther Manor, located at 4545 N. 92nd St. in Wauwatosa, is a senior living community that offers apartment homes, assisted living and long-term care options to seniors. In addition, Luther Manor provides rehabilitation, adult day and supportive services, hospice care and community outreach programs.

The annual Board meeting took place April 29 in the Lippold Faith and Education Center at Luther Manor.

Officers elected at the annual meeting include: Dale Kirchner of Wauwatosa, chair; William Pickering of Wauwatosa, immediate past chair; Larry Nines of Waukesha, treasurer; George Roth of Milwaukee, secretary; and Kathy Czarniak of Menomonee Falls and Mark Sabin of Brookfield as assistant secretaries. The Rev. David Keller of Pewaukee serves as President and CEO of Luther Manor.

Directors elected to three-year terms on the 18-member Board of Directors include: James Hoffman of Fox Point, Stephen Knowles of Milwaukee, Marilyn Lange of Greendale, and William Schultz of Thiensville.

John Silseth of Brookfield, Dee Ramsel of Wauwatosa, and Pastor Merideth Bedker Musaus of Menomonee Falls, who completed their service on the Board this year, were recognized for their contributions. Silseth served for 21 years and most recently held the position of Treasurer. Ramsel served for a total of 11 years and most recently held the position of Chair. Musaus served on the Board for three years and is pastor of Holy Cross in Menomonee Falls.

“An important component for an organization like ours to successfully fulfill its mission is our voluntary Board of Directors,” said Keller. “We are so thankful for both the contributions our retiring directors have made over the years through their service, and the continued commitment of our returning and new directors and officers. It is my honor to work with a Board that shows such dedicated service and compassion.”
